Katie’s Bio
Katie Douglas has her Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Akron. She earned her Certificate in Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Katie has worked a school setting with children from preschool to middle school with a range of deficits including speech, language, fluency, communication delays, autism, and other congenital syndromes.
In addition to her school experience she has experience working with geriatric patients in skilled nursing facilities providing therapy to adults with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders resulting from Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.
Katie is a nationally certified personal trainer and nutrition coach. She enjoys the opportunity of encouraging and guiding people to improve their health and fitness through a variety of exercises and simple changes in nutrition.
Katie finds her career in speech pathology incredibly rewarding and has a great appreciation for one’s ability to communicate.
