Mary Beth Castillo, LISW-S
Mary Beth received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University and is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisor Designation in the State of Ohio. She has over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, working as both a clinician and an administrator. She has experience in home and school settings, as well as in office with telehealth option, providing individual and family therapy.She has worked extensively with those that have experienced complex trauma, as well as co-occurring mental health disorders and neurodiversity, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Developmental Disorders.
Mary Beth utilizes an eclectic and holistic approach to counseling with a trauma-informed lens. She incorporates a variety of modalities, such as cognitive behavioral, strengths based, and acceptance and commitment within her sessions. She feels the most important part of therapy is developing trust and creating a safe space to explore, process, and express emotions. She achieves this by ensuring her clients are heard and feel validated. She makes each client’s journey individualized based on one’s specific needs, wants, and circumstances.
Mary Beth is passionate about helping others recognize their full potential, especially those that have experienced trauma or struggle with anxiety disorders. She finds that individuals are often their biggest barrier to their own success and happiness. She helps clients find their own voice, feel that they are worthy of investing time and energy into caring for themselves, and setting healthy boundaries to do so.
In her free time, Mary Beth enjoys being in nature and finding new and adventurous places in which to explore with her family. She loves finding cool waterfalls, beaches, and anywhere else she can listen to the water, view a beautiful sunset, and relax. She also enjoys attending all of her children’s sports events and performances, as well as trying her luck at gardening, and watching True Crime and Reality TV.
